Bovine respiratory disease: management and treatment
نویسندگان
چکیده
Figure 1. Risk factors for bovine respiratory disease. Assessing the cost of each individual case is very difficult as a large proportion of the costs associated with BRD are hidden. The direct cost of dead animals, their disposal, medicines, extra labour and veterinary input are easy to quantify, but producers often turn a blind eye to the impact on liveweight gain, feed conversion efficiency and the long-term cost of irreversible lung damage. BRD has long been recognised as a multifactorial disease, with multiple causative agents and management factors involved in outbreaks. Controlling BRD therefore requires a multi-faceted approach to reduce the challenge while maximising immunity. Treatment can be effective in reducing losses, but the most cost-effective way to manage BRD has to be through concerted preventive measures.

Bacteriological and therapeutic studies on Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida in bovine respiratory disease at dairy cattle farms in Tehran
In this study, we performed a bacteriological investigation on bovine respiratory infections. Additionally, the study evaluates the efficacy of florfenicol 30 µg produced by Rooyan Darou Company (test group) as compared to a similar drug produced by Aboraihan Company (control group). Sampling was carried out on 30 calves at two farms with 30-55% incidence rate of respiratory disorders. Nasophar...

Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease caused by a novel type of coronavirus which primarily affects the respiratory system , induces mild pulmonary symptoms (e.g cough and dyspnea), is easily recovered and causes pneumonia in severe cases. It gets to admit the patientsin the intensive care unit. Physiotherapy and pulmonary rehabilitation play an important role in improving respiratory function an...

A seroepidemiological study of the association between antibody titers to infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, parainfluenza-3, bovine virus diarrhea and bovine respiratory syncytial viruses, and treatment for bovine respiratory disease was conducted. A total of 322 calves from five different groups were bled on arrival, then one month later all cases (cattle treated for bovine respiratory diseas...
متن کاملBovine Respiratory Disease – an Overview of a Continuing Challenge
Bovine respiratory disease complex, remains an important economic disease affecting food animals in North America and worldwide, despite improvements in production management, approval of new medications and continuing research in this area. Production losses due to pneumonia remain nearly constant, adding millions of dollars in industry costs annually. Bovine respiratory disease complex result...

متن کاملA Narrative Review of Influenza: A Seasonal and Pandemic Disease
Influenza is an acute respiratory disease caused by the influenza A or B virus. It often occurs in outbreaks and epidemics worldwide, mainly during the winter season. Significant numbers of influenza virus particles are present in the respiratory secretions of infected persons, so infection can be transmitted by sneezing and coughing via large particle droplets. The mean duration of influenza v...
